Working to free America from financial bondage
United First Financial was founded in the 1900s by Skyler Witman and John Washenko. Both men had lost their homes during their childhood and recognized that there had to be a better, more manageable way to pay for a home.
Motivated by their past, they launched Accelerated Equity and Development, a mortgage brokerage company dedicated to bringing customers and families best interest rates available.
By Accelerated Equity's third year, it had become one of Utah's fastest growing mortgage companies, attracting large numbers of both new business and returning customers.
Despite the growth, Skyler and John were not satisfied with their business. They began to realize that it didn’t matter how low the interest rates were, their customers were still returning in worse and worse financial condition. With every attempt to alleviate problems through refinance, another mountain of debt was born that would only have to be overcome later. There had to be a way for people to get out of debt quicker to lighten their load rather than accumulating more. Biweekly amortization programs and other related plans required much discipline and more money than most people had available. It was time for a new solution. After years of research and the investment of millions of dollars, United First Financial, along with the Money Merge Account, was born.
